I encountered a spirit of some kind on that island. Memory Lane. I believe that was what caused it.

The moment I touched it, I lost sight of the immediate goals in my mind. I could think of little more than living a peaceful life on that island. I had a home and a community, and as the days passed, I could no longer remember what came before.

[that would explain a lot, except he never seemed to think he was someone else entirely...]

... I don't think so. Something certainly influenced my mind, but I didn't feel any distinct presence. I believe I was the one making decisions, but with all of the wrong information.

[hi zel... rynlan is at the garden on the new island, today, peering up at these giant plants in fascination.]

Oh- all right, maybe one place here is worthwhile.

zel also looks up. he's trying to see the appeal, with some effort... but Aqua, who's out walking with him today, immediately latches on to one of those big plants and starts climbing it.]

The flowers are nice, I think. At the very least, I like it here better than the buildings. Less climbing.

Makes me miss the utility of levitation magic. Wouldn't be a problem to get around if I had even a little of my power...

[Meanwhile... the cat's just creating her own climbing/jumping puzzles with the oversized plants here. She's having a blast.]

It really would, wouldn't it-? I had a levitation spell too, there'd be so much less difficulty here if we could just float.
