[he's settling in on the floor, gesturing for zelgadis to join him. everyone on the floor with the cat c'mon.]

[Zelgadis sits too. He breaks up the breaded fish into smaller pieces, which he places on the plate. The kitten eagerly starts tearing at it.]

Don't know what I'll do with this little creature, honestly...

They make for good company. I've always thought so, anyway-- they're independent little things by nature, so they spend time with you because they want to.

[he's propping his elbow on his knee, chin resting in his palm, as he watches the kitten eat with a little smile.]

If it's so independent, why does it scratch at the door and make a mess of the room whenever I leave it alone for a while?

It's bored, most likely, and can't wander on its own to entertain itself. Did you happen to keep any of those feathers?

Hmm... well, I'm sure we can find a few things to make toys with. It just needs things to occupy itself with, and something safe to scratch.
