So am I, honestly. Not that most of them are actually that comfortable, but having my own clothes back is a nice change.

Not exactly. I do use magic, but I'm a priest, not a mage.

Of the Shadow, most recently, though I see it as less of a... faith-based form of magic than others.

The 'Shadow'? That's a new one. Is that some kind of being, or...?

No, not remotely-- which is why I consider it less of a form of worship. The Shadow, or Void, as well as the Light, are only forces; the Light seeks one path and shuns all others, while the Void sees all possible paths.

More of a discipline, then.

So if not through worship, how does one devote oneself to such a force?

A discipline, exactly. One we learn through study and learning how to channel it properly, much as with any other form of magic.

What kind of magic can you use, channeling that power?

[voidshift]

Shadow is largely offensive. Not as destructive as arcane magic is capable of being, but it can hold its own if need be... well, most of the time.

[an annoyed sigh, there, with a brief shake of his head; the glowy tendrils in his hair wiggle a little with the motion. very normal.]

No point in keeping it to myself that it isn't working, seems like that affects all of us.

My shamanic arts are similarly unresponsive. Black and white magic are out, too. Whatever method of magic sealing they used, it's certainly thorough.

It makes some sense that shamanic magic would fail here, there don't seem to be elementals anyway... but to dampen absolutely everything is impressive. Ridiculous as it all is, I have to respect that much.

You're primarily a magic user too, I'm guessing?

I do a bit of everything. But yes... I usually rely on magic for most things.

What is it that you normally do, then? Or... did.

I'm just a wanderer. I take on mercenary work from time to time... bodyguard work, usually.

Hm. Not the kind of job a caster would usually take, but if your experience is diverse enough, I can see how it could be effective.

When it comes to it, I'm plenty skilled with a sword. And apparently, intimidating enough to scare off any small-fry assailants.

[A shrug.] It pays enough to get me from one destination to another, so it's good enough for me.

...I could see that. You do have that sort of aura.

Traveling for any particular reason, or just to see more of your world?

[A nod. He's okay with being intimidating.

[He clenches a fist at his side. There's a flicker of emotion in his one visible eye; some feeling that he's trying to suppress.

You might need to work on the aura, a little, but motivation is never a bad start.
