Yeah, but there are risks to it. You have limited time in one before both the psyncer and subject are in danger. So, you need to be quick but also not miss anything. It could end up being as chaotic as a trial.

[ BUT STILL… helpful ]

Your subconscious can’t fill in things it doesn’t know with accurate information. So… say you saw a murder but not clearly enough to see who the killer was, and that was relayed in your somnium. I could see how the murder took place, because you saw that happen. But the killer would be blank and nondescript, because subconscious doesn’t know who they are or what they look like. It’s not decisive evidence, but it gives us a lead.

On the other hand, if I have a suspect and I go into their somnium and see detailed information on how the murder took place and who the victim was, then there’s a solid chance they did it. I might even see them carrying out the killing.

It’s not evidence in court, but it gives the investigation team a suspect and a strong lead to find that evidence with.

Yeah, it can go either way. There’s a thing where a mind can influence a psyncer into believing what they believe. Like a sort of shared mania?

But those weren’t exactly like a somnium. Even if it was using people and things I knew to make it seem more real — like putting things in a police station, or showing me my best friend.
