[hello rock guy. ryn's checking out what they can see of the dorms, already changed into a different outfit-- long-sleeved, high-necked dark grey robes and gloves, leaving only his face and ears uncovered. in this thread we don't show skin, apparently.]
...nothing too enlightening, so far. Have you seen anything?
No, not remotely-- which is why I consider it less of a form of worship. The Shadow, or Void, as well as the Light, are only forces; the Light seeks one path and shuns all others, while the Void sees all possible paths.
It makes some sense that shamanic magic would fail here, there don't seem to be elementals anyway... but to dampen absolutely everything is impressive. Ridiculous as it all is, I have to respect that much.

he turns to face him and shakes his head.]
It looks like there are supposed to be more people on the floors above us, but there's no access. No apparent exit besides that locked door, either.

[he exhales a sigh, at that, adjusting his glasses.]
It's more comfortable than the cell, at least.

Am I right in supposing you're a sorcerer?
[With those robes, he looks the part, anyway.]
no subject
Not exactly. I do use magic, but I'm a priest, not a mage.

So if not through worship, how does one devote oneself to such a force?

What kind of magic can you use, channeling that power?

[an annoyed sigh, there, with a brief shake of his head; the glowy tendrils in his hair wiggle a little with the motion. very normal.]
No point in keeping it to myself that it isn't working, seems like that affects all of us.
no subject
And a nod to confirm that assumption.]
My shamanic arts are similarly unresponsive. Black and white magic are out, too. Whatever method of magic sealing they used, it's certainly thorough.

You're primarily a magic user too, I'm guessing?

[Zelgadis is clearly the creation of an obnoxious min-maxing DND player and should be banned from every table.]

What is it that you normally do, then? Or... did.

[A shrug.] It pays enough to get me from one destination to another, so it's good enough for me.

Traveling for any particular reason, or just to see more of your world?

And then a delay before he answers.]
I'm searching for something. A cure.

[he doesn't pry about what it was for, but-]
Were you close to it, do you think?
