You should differentiate the ways you love a pet and a person, anyway, you can't claim those are equivalent.

Of course the relationship dynamics are different, but as far as I'm concerned, the "different kinds of love" are just attachments with varying levels of intensity.

I don't know about that. Intense platonic love is still a different thing from intense romantic love, nevermind that the entire dynamic's different with someone who can return it versus something that can't quite do that in the same way.

See, you're proving my point for me right now. You can say you don't do the whole love thing either, but when it comes down to it, you still have a sentimental — one could say almost human! — view of the idea and feel the need to defend it.

I have a much easier time focusing on important matters! It's really amazing how much time humans — and others, it seems — devote to their relationships, whether it be acting on them or thinking about them... or about their lacks thereof.

Don't get me wrong, though; I wouldn't have it any other way. It's part of what makes them interesting. They're so messy.

If not any kind of love, though, then do you ever feel any-- connection to others, I suppose is a way to phrase it?

I certainly enjoy the company of some more than others!

What kind of important matters do you have to focus on?

Oh, holding up a barrier around a gate to the demonic world, helping the government deal with a panicking population that can suddenly see demons, and overseeing the education and training of many of the exorcists who fight them.

That explains the academy in your information, then-- and I'd guess time and space control would lend themselves pretty well to barriers, wouldn't they, or is that an entirely different sort of magic?

Are the demons there anything like our six here? They're nothing like what we'd call demons at home.

That's refreshing, some of my colleagues have been known to complain that it's not long enough.

Demons differ vastly from one another, so it's hard to compare them as a whole to anything else... but I can safely say that no, there aren't any like these.

Only a bronze dragon could do it for that length of time, where I come from.

I have to wonder if any of us do know of demons like them. I don't think anyone I've talked to has.

Oh, I suspect there's a good reason for that. While it may be the case that there are other worlds that work much differently than mine, I think much of this isn't at all what they say it is.

I'm not in much of a position to say whether Hell is or isn't real, it's not an afterlife we've ever referred to.

A few of us have commented before, though, on how it doesn't seem quite like what it's supposed to be. Not fully lacking in the torment aspect, they did assign us to the same room, but less so than I'd have thought.
